End Shark Culls Now! 🦈❤️
A once-in-a-generation chance to end unregulated shark culling, by closing the loophole in our national environmental law.
Australia's national environmental law, the EPBC Act, is currently under review for the first time in over two decades.
Draft reforms are now with Environment Minister Murray Watt and will go before Parliament in November.
Right now, a loophole in Section 43B of the Act allows lethal shark culling programs in Queensland and New South Wales to operate without any federal environmental scrutiny, even when they kill protected species like whales, dolphins, turtles and dugongs.
This is our best, and possibly only, chance to close that loophole and bring shark culling under proper environmental oversight. Let your MP know you want Section 43B reformed.
